How do I update the database?

GameSave Manager's "Officially Supported Games" database is regularly updated.
Each update fixes detection issues, adds new game support and/or adds alternative paths for existing entries. It is therefore recommended you regularly update the database.
You can find a full list of the currently supported games right here.

There are 3 ways you can update the database.

1. Use the "Check for Updates" option within GameSave Manager
2. Manually update (with file associations)
3. Manually update (without file associations)

  1. Use the "Check for Updates" option within GameSave Manager.
    • Step 1 - Click the "Help" File-Menu, followed by "Check for Updates".
    • Step 2 - GameSave Manager will automatically check for updates, and display any available updates.
    • Step 3 - Click the "Apply Update" option to automatically download and apply the update.
    • Task Complete - You've now successfully updated your "Officially Supported Games" database.

  2. Manually update (with file associations).
    • Step 1 - Manually download the latest Database update.
    • Step 2 - Double-click onto the extracted .gsdu file
    • Task Complete - You've now successfully updated your "Officially Supported Games" database.

  3. Manually update (without file associations).
    • Step 1 - Manually download the latest Database update.
    • Step 2 - Use the WinKey and R key combination to open the "Run" dialog box.
    • Step 3 - Within the Run dialog, type in the following:
      "C:\Program Files (x86)\GameSave Manager\gs_mngr.exe" "/update C:\Downloads\db_update.gsdu"

Where "C:\Program Files (x86)\GameSave Manager" is the full path to where GameSave Manager is installed to, and "C:\Downloads" is the full path to the .gsdu file you downloaded.
    • Task Complete - You've now successfully updated your "Officially Supported Games" database.
